Guitarist Bruce Forman, acclaimed a prodigious talent by Downbeat, was born in 1956 and has already accumulated more than 20 years as a professional musician. Initially inspired by such guitar masters as Wes Montgomery and Joe Pass, Bruce ultimately developed his own dazzling guitar style embodying the spirit of musical freedom expressed by such be-bop wizards as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis.

A leader, as well as sideman with many of the greatest names in jazz, Bruce has performed at major jazz festivals and clubs throughout the world. Luminaries such as Bobby Hutcherson, Stanley Turrentine, Grover Washington, Eddie Jefferson, and Richie Cole have featured him in their bands.

Since 1978 Bruce has maintained an active recording career. Besides recordings of his own, he has appeared on numerous albums by other jazz stalwarts, including Mark Murphy, Lanny Morgan, Jimmy Knepper, Rare Silk, Bobby Enriquez, and many more. &a composer of rare merit Leonard Feather, L.A. Time

I think Bruce Forman is one of the great lights of our age right now, on guitar. He is so good&you have to go beyond jealousy or competition; its so obvious that you almost show your ignorance if you dont admit it. Barney Kessel

&a top-rank soloist in every respect. Best known for his high energy approach and almost superhuman chops, Forman has many subtle characteristics& &one of the planets finest improvisers. Jim Ferguson, Guitar Player Magazine
