First Prize Winner of the 1987 Concert Artists Guild International - New York Competition, the 1981 Toronto Guitar Competition, and highest prize winner of the 1983 Radio-France International Guitar Competition, William Kanengiser is recognized as one of Americas premiere young classical guitarists.

A two-time recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Solo Recitalist Grant, Mr. Kanengiser has transcribed and arranged music for both solo guitar and for the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. He has performed extensively in North America, Europe, and Asia as a soloist and with the highly acclaimed Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.

William Kanengiser was Ralph Macchios guitar double and coach in the Columbia Pictures film Crossroads. Mr. Kanengiser studied at the University of Southern California, being named Outstanding Graduate of the School of Music upon receiving both his Bachelors and Masters degrees. Mr. Kanengiser is currently Professor of Guitar at the University of Southern California.

William was born in Orange, New Jersey on July 22, 1959, and now makes his home in Whittier, California.
