1961 Masaru Kohno Classical Guitar
Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back & sides - lacquer finish
Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back & sides - lacquer finish
From the earlier days of Masaru Kohno's legacy, this guitar is a real treat to play. It has the kind of sustained, rich, yet clearly defined resonance that only comes with age. The ample volume and projection are obvious.
There are only a few finish screatches and dings, here and there - much less than one would expect with a guitar of this vintage. Some of the grain on the back has ever so slightly separated, showing through the very thin layer of lacquer
The handwritten number 821 on the label is a bit mysterious. It is doubtful that he had made that many instruments by that time, so it's probably some sort of record keeping code.
Scale length: 651mm - Nut width: 50mm
With a hardshell case
