1962 Jose Ramirez Flamenco Guitar
German Spruce top, Cypress back & sides
German Spruce top, Cypress back & sides
This Jose Ramirez III guitar was made by Antonio Martinez Ortega (the initials “AM” are stamped inside the guitar). His guitars, considered to be some of the best from the Ramirez workshop, were acquired by Segovia and Parkening. It is similar in design that Sabicas later used in his career.
The guitar is lightweight and easy to play with low flamenco action. Its age is immediately noticeable in the beautiful resonance and long, rich sustain. It has the German Wittner pegs for precision tuning.
The top shows two cracks that were professionally repaired. There are some minor buckle and button marks on the back along with some finish cracking. Some dings are on the upper back near the heel, where some polish or cleaner has remained, leaving a white residue. Otherwise it is in very good condition with normal usage wear for this vintage.
Scale length: 654mm - Nut width: 51mm
String heigth at the 12th fret: 6th string - 4mm, 1st string - 3mm
With a hardshell case
