1965 Manuel Contreras Flamenco Guitar
Spruce top, Cypress back & sides
Spruce top, Cypress back & sides
This fine guitar was made shortly after Manuel left the Ramirez workshop. It is very typical of his guitars from that time - dry, while punchy, clear, bright with some richness, and addictive sustain. The played age is immediately noticeable. I personally owned a 1964 Contreras classical guitar with Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back & sides. It had the same characteristics with the richness and bolder volume of the rosewood.
Except for the capo strap markings on the back of the neck, it's in exceptional condition for this vintage.
With hardshell case
