1968 Manuel Contreras Model 1 Classical Guitar
Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back & sides
Spruce top, Brazilian Rosewood back & sides
It’s in very good condition with a few dings and scratches. The finish wear on the back and headstock can probably be buffed out. There is a string ding at the bridge - 5th string position. The wear on the back of the neck at the 10th-11th fret is seemingly from the left hand thumb nail when reaching for the higher treble notes. There are a couple of finish cracks on the back of the headstock, near the 1st and 6th string slots.
This guitar posesses a noticeably big, open, distinct sound. The 662 scale allows the bass to resonate in a very strong, yet clearly defined and balanced way. With a lot of playing time, the aged spruce creates a clear and strong tone with very good sustain. Quite impressive.
Scale length: 662mm - Nut width: 53mm
With a silver Leaf case
