European Spruce soundboard, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides

European Spruce soundboard, Brazilian Rosewood back and sides

Hideo Kamimoto has made only 3 guitars. Two are in his personal collection and this is the remaining third. The 3 guitars were made for Mike King, Stu Goldberg, and Larry Higgins when he repaired guitars at the iconic Marina Music in San Francisco.

Two of the guitars are here pictured in his highly acclaimed book, Complete Guitar Repair, first published by Oak Publications in 1976. This one belonged to Mike King before being passed on to me at the end of his workings in the late 80s here at Guitar Solo. The photo, taken at Marina Music, shows Mike King on the left and Stu Goldberg with their HKs.

This is a wonderful guitar with a truly marvelous "jumbo" style sound. It has a huge sound while still clear and projecting in every register. Great for strumming and singing and/or solo fingerpicking as Mike was so accomplished at.

Woods are European Spruce for the soundboard and Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. The tuners are gold Schallers.

Condition is very good with normal wear from being played a lot. There are minor strum marks and dings in the finish.

Price includes the original hardshell case.

Scale Length: 25-1/2" - Nut Width: 1-7/8"
