3 Suites
[Solo Guitar]
Bransles de Bourgogne, Suite de Bransles, Suite de Danses
Pierre Phalèse (1510 - 1573) was one of the greatest publishers of his time. The three suites presented here were taken from a collection he issued and whose title in German could be translated into "Most exquisite and graceful French, Italian and Latin pieces to be played on the guitar". Phalèse himself wrote only the arrangements of the pieces. The composers are listed in the footnotes of this edition. Included in the preface are some interesting pieces of information on dances of the 16th century.
