For Luigi Boccherini’s (1743-1805) annually delivered quintet compositions to the Prussian court, he received the title and pay as a court composer from King Friedrich Wilhelm II. He could not decide, however, to swap his sunny Madrid with the Prussian-strict Berlin. The 3rd Guitar Quintet was expanded and edited on the basis of preserved manuscripts in the Paris Conservatory by Siegfried Behrend. It corresponds to the quintet no. 7 (G 451). Due to the increased demand for the Boccherini guitar quintets in recent times, we have launched this new edition.
