The work of Francisco Tárrega (1852 - 1909) represents a milestone in the development of guitar technique. These preludes are among his most characteristic pieces. They are sound sketches that bring the player closer to the essence of the guitar through a new choice of application and transparent notation. They are therefore particularly suitable as study material. In order to do full justice to Tárrega's train of thought, no editing or significant fingering changes were made. Only the fingerings have been reduced to make them easier to read and some fingering aids have been given.
