Elassomorph
[4 Guitars] [score & parts]
The title Elassomorph is a compilation of the ancient Greek “elastos” and “morph” with an extra “s” thrown in to represent the American West (lasso). In a way, this sums up the character of the piece: classical elements such as fugal and minimalist counterpoint are juxtaposed against popular elements characteristic of homegrown American music. Elassomorph was premiered at Wigmor Hall, London, by the LAGQ.
