Preludios Elegiacos

Elegiac Preludes is a series of six guitar pieces composed in 2021 and dedicated to guitarist Zaira Meneses. They were conceived as a tribute to important figures in music from diverse backgrounds and geographies.
Each one is subtitled Omaggio a:
I. Julian Bream
II. Robert Vidal
III. José María de Iparraguirre
IV. Carlos Fariñas
V. Jean Sibelius
VI. Dmitry Shostakovich
These tributes reflect both personal affinities and cultural and aesthetic references that have accompanied Brouwer throughout his career.
