All of John W. Duarte’s English Suites, seven in total, are written for different instrumental combinations and use different folk songs as their bases. English Suite No.3 Op.78 for four guitars was written in 1979 and comprises three movements, 1) Rufty Tufty, 2) The Crystal Spring and 3) The Black Nag, which use two dances from John Playford’s The English Dancing Master and one folk song from Somerset, UK.
