Estanislao Marco, Volume 1
[Solo Guitar]
with extensive commentary in Spanish and English by Jorge Orozco
Many people have helped me to recover the work of Estanislao Marco and make this dream come true.
First I must mention his direct descendants, his grandsons Manuel Marco and Juan Marco and his wife Pilar for having welcomed me with open arms and hearts. Thanks go to them for having preserved some scores, photographs and a substantial amount of written material that cleared up many aspects of his life.
Another vital person is my friend, musicologist and guitarist Francisco Herrera for supplying me with all kinds of information and above all for his enthusiastic support from the very start of the project.
To Jose Penarroja, who studied with Estanislao Marco himself, for his wise advice and learned memory, not to mention all the members of the Rondalla Segarra de Vall d'Uixa for preserving his legacy and keeping the memory of their teacher alive over the years.
To Jesus Piles for his unconditional support in the publication of this work and his infinite patience.
To Alberto and all the nameless individuals at the Valencia Flea Market whose silent and unheralded work continues to rescue undiscovered treasures.
