Miguel Llobet was one of the most influential guitarists of the early 20th century. Not only was he an excellent performer, he also had great talent for composition and transcription. Llobet's guitar works focus on bringing out the possibilities of the guitar to the maximum, and are marked by their attention to detail in choosing notes and rhythms. Unique and at times unusual, yet exquisite works full of beauty.
The present collection contains original works such as Variaciones sobre un Tema de Sor, Scherzo-Vals and the Catalan folk song arrangements, as well as his spectacular arrangements such as Danza Espanola no.5 and Torre Bermeja. 22 pieces in total are included, edited from the original versions. At the end of the book is a commentary on the original Catalan folk songs, written by Jiro Hamada.
