John W. Duarte: A Celebration of His Music
It is interesting that John Duarte, who would become such a force in the world of guitar pedagogy and performance, was a largely self-taught guitarist. Even so, his talent and capacity for all things guitar would produce a life of performance, teaching, journalism, and composition. As an hommage to this master, Coles has assembled a selection of original compositions and arrangements that had appeared under the UE banner “The J.W. Duarte Series.” These 20 pieces, from Dowland and Weiss to Riera and Pujol, will form a solid basis for study and performance.
