This series entitled Maestros clásicos de la guitarra flamenca is a complement to the two previously published series Duende Flamenco and Traité de guitare flamenca. It contains transcriptions of the finest compositions of the masters, works widely considered as a pinnacle in the history of flamenco guitar. Wherever there are no recent reissues of early recordings of the transcriptions, a CD will be supplied with the volume.
An indispensable part of studying the flamenco guitar involves getting to know these pieces, none of which is included in the Duende Flamenco books. It is my fervent hope that the publication of these "classic works" will encourage young guitarists to perform them in recitals and concerts.
