Works For Guitar Solo
French, English, & Italian Text
Ida Presti, pseudonym of Yvette Montagnon (Suresnes, May 31, 1924 – Rochester, April 24, 1967), made her debut as a child prodigy at just 11 years old and launched a career as a soloist, but later performed almost exclusively as a duo with her husband, Alexander Lagoya. Together, the two artists performed over two thousand concerts worldwide. Composers such as Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, André Jolivet, Francis Poulenc, and Joaquín Rodrigo wrote for them.
Ida Presti sadly passed away prematurely at just 43 years of age, on April 24, 1967 in Rochester, but her name is a legend of the six strings and her sensitivity as an interpreter is still considered by many to be unsurpassed.
