The idea for this arrangement came to me during the opera "The Barber of Seville". While I was waiting for the two pieces with guitar accompaniment, the other members of the orchestra played Rossini's wonderful overture over and over again. Positioned behind the first and second violins, I could follow the notes well.
So I soon began to play along. At the same time, I was working on the "Grande Ouverture" by Mauro Giuliani and it became clear to me that this overture by Rossini in a version for guitar quartet would be exactly the piece that Giuliani unfortunately never wrote for us.
