Miosotis
[CD]
Brasilian Bossa Jazz (with a guest appearance by Joao Luiz Lopes)
Paulo Martelli is a versatile and surprising artist, capable of feeling comfortable playing diverse styles from renaissance pieces to eclectic classical and contemporary guitar repertoire. He shines wherever he goes. His sojourns into Brazilian music are particularly exquisite, conveyed with rare emotion and dedication. I have been fortunate to hear Paulo on several of these excursions down distinct and distant roads. His latest musical exploration is a partnership with the great composer Ze Henrique Martiniano. The pieces that make up the disk Miosotis are surprising for the brilliant originality of their harmonies and melodies. Sergio Assad (2011)
