Por Una Cabeza
[Solo Guitar]
An intermediate arrangement of a popular tango.
"Por una Cabeza" is one of those enduring melodies that strikes just the right chord - representing the tango form at ts very best. This piece was written in 1935 by the French/Argentine composer Carlos Gardel and has remained one of his best-known works. It is also one of the last compositions, as he tragically died at the height of his popularity in an airplane crash in the same year.
This arrangement for solo guitar is rery well conceived by Michel Kirschner. He has kept the standard to one that would be suitable for the intermediate player, but still has managed to retain nost of the wonderful musical features of this splendid tune. His chosen key is A maior/A minor, which works well in this setting. -S.M
