Scenes D'Enfants, Op. 15 & Youth Album, Op. 68
Romanticism in its highest expression takes its figure of model in Robert Schumann's art.
These very beautiful transcriptions for guitar proposed by Elhadi Gaou in this Album for youth and Children's scenes will doubtless give the opportunity to every guitarist to deepen and to recreate the harmonious world so characteristic of this composer.
This adaptation of a very high musical level, is a great occasion to enhance the literature of our instrument.

SCHUMANN Robert : Scènes d’enfants Op.15 (L'enfant supplie - Rêverie - Le poète parle) - Album pour la jeunesse Op.68 (Mélodie - Marche militaire - En fredonnant - Choral - Petit morceau - Pauvre orphelin - Le joyeux paysan retournant de son travail - Mai, joli mai, te voilà bientôt - Premier chagrin - Mignon, version pour guitare à 10 cordes - Mignon, version pour guitare à 6 cordes - Chanson du moissonneur - Petite romance - Chanson nordique)
Elhadi Gaou, guitarist renowned for his playing on polystring guitars, offers us transcriptions of pieces by Robert Schumann, originally composed for solo piano. There are three titles from the collection "Children's Scenes" and a selection of fourteen titles from the "Album for Youth" that Schumann composed for educational reasons. The work is proposed for a "normal" guitar but several pieces can be played on a ten-string guitar: the text remains the same, but a scordatura is proposed for the additional strings. The level of difficulty varies: there are quite easy and very beautiful pieces but, in most cases, there are technical difficulties which require a more advanced level. So that the transcriptions remain faithful - as far as possible - to the original compositions and tones, Gaou uses interesting scordatura and also the capo. As Roberto Aussel writes in the preface to this edition: "this adaptation of a very high musical level will contribute to enriching the literature for our instrument."
