Sonata in C Major
This edition is part of the series STEP BY STEP with annotated material for studying. In these annotations, the editor presents hints and suggestions which are also part of his instructions to students. The edition has been arranged in a manner which allows the use of the note text for concert purposes as well, i.e. the texts are not ascribed to their respective movements but rather collected on separate sheets. This sonata was originally written in D Major for the viola da gamba and taken from the „Getreuen Musicmeister“, a monthly paper with enclosed note sheets. Articulations and fingering specifically emphasized were added by the editor. A small revision report lists changes with regard to the original version. This piece can be played with skills that correspond to an advanced intermeditate level.
