String Quartet, Op. 42
Haydn's String Quartet op.42 is full of genius and wit, showing Haydn at his best. Maestro Eduardo Fernandez has transcribed the work for the Fernandez-Fukuda duo, in an approach similar to the guitar duos of Giuliani and Carulli. The work, apart from being transposed to E minor, has not been modified by a single note. All the energy and joy of the original has been retained. The work has a Russian flavor and the fugal finale (4th movement) is particularly enjoyable. An excellent addition to the duo repertoire. Includes fingerings and commentary by Eduardo Fernandez.
