Dionisio Aguado (1784-1849) was the most outstanding Spanish guitarist and composer of numerous guitar works of his time. He lived and worked mainly in his homeland. He enriched the classical guitar literature, which was developing at that time, with numerous educational works. With his guitar method, which was published in Madrid in 1825 with the title "Método de guitarra", he laid the foundations for the modern playing technique of this instrument. This two-volume edition (Volume I.: Z. 12377, Volume II.: Z. 12378) contains the etudes from Aguado's guitar method.
