"As far as I can discover, Suite Tricastine is a four-movement work and this is the second movement - the others being Gato, Malambo and Vidala y Chacarera. Scored for four guitars (with an optional fifth one playing a given strummed accompaniment on the printed chord symbols), Zamba is basically a dia-logue between the first two guitars, with the other two providing the harmonic backing. The suite was composed to introduce young guitarists to the rhythms and harmonies of the traditional music of Argentine and this one serves its purpose well. It is very tuneful and rhythmic and is attractive enough to whet the appetite to hear the rest of the suite. [...]"
