Tombeau sur La Mort de M. Comte de Logy & Menuet
[Solo Guitar]
original for lute
Among the many wonderful compositions of Silvius L. Weiss, the famous Logy tombeau stands out. Johann Graf Losy (Logy) (ca. 1645-1721) was an imperial official, composer and one of the best-known lutenists of his generation. In memory of Logy, Weiss created this haunting mourning piece, which in its importance can be equated with the famous tombeau compositions by Froberger, Louis Couperin, Marin Marais and Saint Colombe. Weiss hits the heart of the listener with his tonal language.
The extraordinary transcription by Tilman Hoppstock shows (not only in the repeated parts) completely new ideas that make the piece appear even more haunting.
With detailed explanations in German and English. and fingerings of the arranger.
